Dear Prospective Vendor,

 

Please let me take a moment and introduce myself to you.  My name is Sharon Smith and I am the new 2008 Riverfront Festival Chairperson.  I was appointed by the Town of Surgoinsville’s Board of Mayor and Alderman to serve in this capacity.  I am so excited about this upcoming festival.  We want this year’s festival to be the best ever!!  We are already working hard to make this happen. 

 

Let me tell you a little about our festival.   The dates for this year’s Riverfront festival are September 26-27, 2008.   We are located on the beautiful bank of the Holston River.   This is a family oriented festival.  No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises.  We enjoy a genre of music during our festival.  We have activities for all ages to participate in. We strive to make all activities free for participants.  This is a wonderful time for our community to come together and enjoy a weekend of fun and entertainment.  It’s a great time to catch up with friends and family we’ve not seen in awhile.  We bring out our lawn chairs and blanket so that we can stay for the day and enjoy the music.  So, don’t forget to bring yours as well!

 

  

Please let me say again how excited I am to be able to work with you this year.  We hope that you will join us down by the riverbanks for a fabulous “fall- time” Riverfront Festival.

Vendor Registration Form

We are now accepting reservations for booth space in our 13th annual Riverfront Festival.  The festival will be held

 

September 26-27, 2008 at the Surgoinsville Riverfront Park.

 

Booth spaces are approximately 10’ x 16’.  If more space is needed you will be required to purchase an additional space.  If your trailer hitch is beyond this width you MUST purchase an additional space. If you plan on parking another vehicle at your booth you MUST purchase an additional space.  We furnish booth space only, no canopies, tables, etc…

 

Arts and Crafts booth spaces without electricity are $35.00.

Arts and Crafts booth spaces with electricity are $45.00.

Food / Concession booths are $65.00.  This includes electricity.  All food and concession booths are required to pay for a permit from the Health Inspector per State of Tennessee Health Department regulations. The permit fee is $30.00 in cash and will be collected by the health inspector when he inspects your booth.  Please do not send the fee in with your registration. 

Bagged Ice will be available for $1.00 a bag.

 

Each vendor is responsible for collecting 9.75% sales tax on all items sold at the festival.  If you do not have a current Tennessee tax number, we will issue a special event sales tax return to you, which you must fill out and mail in with your payment.. 

 

The deadline to register is July 31, 2008.   Booths will be assigned and vendors will be notified by August 30.  If space is available, we will continue to accept applications after July 31 on a case by case basis.  Registration fee must be included with application to reserve space.

 

If you have to cancel please call the Surgoinsville City Hall at 423-345-2213.   Please note, registration fee is non-refundable after July 31.

 

Several local businesses will be giving away free food on Friday at 5:00 to 6:30pm. There will be NO free food given out beyond that time or the rest of the festival!

 

You must have your booth space set up and all unnecessary vehicle out of the way no later than 10:00am on Friday!

 

We try to do everything in our power not to duplicate food items sold.  Please send in your registration form early to insure you are able to sell desired food items.

Please make checks out to Surgoinsville Riverfront Festival.  Thank you for participating with us in our 2008 Riverfront Festival.  Remember the deadline to register is July 31, 2008.  If you register after that day there is a $20.00 late fee. If space is available, we will continue to accept applications after July 31 on a case by case basis.   There is no walk-in registration this year!

 

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: I, the undersigned, on behalf of myself and all those working with or for me, do indemnify and hold harmless the Surgoinsville Riverfront Festival Board and Committee, The City of Surgoinsville and the County of Hawkins against all liabilities and claims of every kind, including attorney’s fees brought by any person or entity that might arise from participation in the event.
